What's the difference between a relaxer and a filler?
A relaxer, called "Botox", consists of a few tiny injections of a purified protein produced by the Clostridium Botulinum Bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that can cause lines to form over time.
The reduction of the muscles can help to reduce the
appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. If a relaxer is used consistently for the reduction of the muscles before the wrinkles begin, it can also help serve as a preventative or a reduction to those fine lines and wrinkles that would come naturally at a later age.
A filler , called "Juvederm" does just that, it fills and restores volume and fullness to the skin to
correct facial wrinkles and folds, providing a smoother, more youthful
appearance. There are a variety of fillers that are made of hyaluronic acid, collagen, and more.
Prices are: BOTOX -- $160. per area
JUVEDERM -- $550.00 per syringe.
